You are not broken, and you never were.

For years I lived in complete disconnection from my body. My life consisted of exercising, eating ‘clean’, maintaining a fit physique, overachieving– all at the expense of recurrent injuries, years of absent menstrual cycles, worsening anxiety, fertility challenges, and burnout to name a few. I frequently wondered:

Will I ever be able to feel at home in my body?

As I began my career as a Doctor of Physical Therapy, I began to see the same pattern play out in just about all of the women I supported.

Disconnected from their bodies.
Feeling unsafe in their bodies.
A sense of betrayal by their bodies.
Resistance to dropping in and feeling.

I knew I needed to create a practice that allowed me to provide women the whole-person, heart-centered care they deserved. A practice that allowed women to tell their full stories, beyond the physical injury. A practice that offered the type of care I wish I had received in my own journey.

And so, Embody Physical Therapy & Wellness was born.

Hey, I’m Emily.

I help women feel at home in their bodies and reclaim their intuition & vitality, with long-lasting transformation from the inside-out.

I’m a whole-person centered Women’s Health Doctor of Physical Therapy and the founder of Embody Physical Therapy & Wellness, LLC in Hopkinton, MA. I specialize in orthopedic and pelvic health, with a particular passion for all things menstrual health, fertility, and perinatal care. I’m a certified Mercier Fertility Specialist, Holistic Hypothalamic Amenorrhea Practitioner, Pregnancy & Postpartum corrective exercise specialist (to-be), & an eating disorder and Health At Every Size® (HAES) informed provider.

Embody PTW was created as a result of years spent navigating my own healing journey and working closely with hundreds of women as a physical therapist; I recognized women deserve better. I’ve heard countless women share stories of feeling unseen, unheard and confused leaving medical appointments– I want to be a part of the solution.

My hope is that women under my care always feel heard, held, and free to share their full story. That they feel empowered to rewrite their narrative and achieve their goals.

I cannot promise I will always have all of the answers, but I promise to always bring curiosity and walk alongside you on your journey.

a little more about me…

Aside from my credentials and being a bit of a nerd, I absolutely love to talk about taboo topics and break stigmas in the women’s health space. Periods, pee, poop, vulvas, sex, and body image are frequent topics of conversation both in and outside of the clinic. I’m here to help shatter the shame that so many women live with on a daily basis. Let’s just say, nothing is too TMI over here.

Outside of the clinic you can catch me hanging on the lake with my husband, Erik, and pup, Kona, curled up on the couch reading a book, or starting a new home DIY project that may or may not ever come to completion. Hey, it’s the thought that counts, right?
